A concerning increase of attacks on local Cocoon businesses have occurred by people calling themselves Demons. In response, there have been rumors that the infamous Hidden Demons are denying such attacks and claim this is a new gang surfacing. It is still not clear if this is true, as there have been no claimed attacks on any Chinatown businesses.
So far there seems to be no pattern in what businesses are attacked, other than that they are all in Cocoon. So far Queen's Pub, ModTek, Purgatory, and Bunkr are all victims of these attacks. Witnesses at several of these businesses describe similar events. Each mentions a group of scruffy looking thugs entering the establishments and asking for the managers. These thugs claim to be collectors for “the Demons” and demand the businesses pay a weekly tithe. These requests would then devolve into threats, pointing guns at patrons, and trashing the establishments.
So far, the 'the tough gets going' mentality of Cocoon’s citizens have lead to these thugs getting chased off or beaten down by employees and regular customers that did not take these threats lightly.
Despite the Hidden Demons claiming no responsibility for these criminals, it brings to question why the attackers claim to be and have not touched Chinatown, a known territory of them. Those that survived are currently being treated at GT+T and held for questioning. Hopefully the investigation will clear up any uncertainties, after which they will answer for their crimes.
