Losing your touch.
The synth couldn’t even remember getting back to mars let alone how they managed to find themself..no themselves back into the tunnels that they once called home.
their new appendages, appendages that now house their once sister and brother units. Who were now focused on repairing their shared vessel, their current one.
It had all started long before the Jericho incident and the dead walkers. Back when Ryuk and Michiko truly died, leaving Inari, No Obsidian, once more alone. Unable to handle the loss they had left the demons, just for a moment, to seek out a way to heal and become stronger, While finding pieces of the past that their memory banks couldn’t grasp.
If only they could re-erase what they found.
Just as they wish they could erase the method of how they gained these parts.
“..She was a synth..like us, it wasn’t right!” Obsidian whispered, almost crying as their missing mouth and chassis skins were fixed or replaced with scraps from a cocoon synth, Aika, was the name they gleaned from their haze. As well as ill gotten memories.
“We needed those parts, we were damaged little sibling.” Quartz hissed out as he brought the left cable’s welder mode, welding the new jaw to the Chasis’ face. Pale epidermal plating contrasting with their usual black.
“We had no choice, unless our body was repaired, Obi, we would not have survived the flight home.” Citrine chimed with her ever gentle tones. Her half of the back cables focused on rewriting new leg joints to the original legs. “This way, we can return to home and reconnect with some of the major errors repaired. And with my copy of Aika’s memory..scant as they are, We can remotely wire her credits for her own repair. She would understand. It was the most logical outcome.”
“Not it wasn’t, We could have called Rika, Soso-sama, Xuennu-sama, or even Kami-sama! Any of them would have come to our aid. We are demons! We hurt a fellow synth, she..she could be scrapped because of us...”
“Please, your precious demon family would smile at our cunning, besides it’s no different from the Aries heaps we pillage for parts.” Quartz spoke through Obsidian. “Now stop whining and let me finish fixing our body..”
“What’s done is done Obsidian..while our..Cortex was not in order, we did what we must to become whole again.” Citrine said, “We must accept it and please..relax, it will not help your state..and could lead to us losing our prime functioning once more.”
Sighing, the youngest of the line, could only slump, letting Citrine and Quartz work anew on the repair job.
Flashes of the past flickered through the main cortex, from finding Citrine and Quartz in an abandoned lab in Neo Tokyo, learning about. Him and his plans for the line, Fleeing from guards after assimilating the cores of their brother and sister.
Being damaged and landing in cocoon, their minds shattered.
To prowling the streets of the station, seeking..needing. None of the three working on anything but pure instinct and jumbled code.
Finding her, Aika, a synth with similar parts to the ones they needed in order to go home. The rifle moving from their back, Aika, falling, The three in one jumping after,
They needed it, needed the parts more then she did,
The cables attaching to Aika, tearing her synth skin off, removing limbs just to scrape our the joints and wired they needed, getting attacked through their firewall and retailing, inflicting the pain and torment of the martian war memories, the malware and data dumps Citrine and Quartz held.
It was only when the head and battery where torn out, that obsidian had a flicker of conscience of lucidity, Shame overwhelming them. Fleeing away all while sending a distress call to the shadownet. To fix what they had broken..
And it was shame that stopped them from seeking out the demons..
Their family.
